Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef 80/20 for best flavor and juiciness. Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Traditional choice, but feel free to mix with Monterey Jack or Pepper Jack.
  • 1/2 cup diced onion Sweet or green onions work well.
  • 1/4 cup ketchup Can substitute with BBQ sauce.
  • 1 tablespoon mustard Add sriracha for a spicy twist.
  • to taste salt and pepper Season generously.
  • slider buns Soft, fluffy buns recommended.
  • pickles Optional, for crunch and acidity.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, mix ground beef, cheddar cheese, diced onion, ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper until just combined.
  • Press mixture into a greased baking dish evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until fully cooked and browned on top.
  • Let cool for a few minutes, then cut into slider-sized squares.
  • Serve on slider buns with optional pickles.

Notes

You can prepare the meat mixture ahead of time and store it in the fridge for up to a day. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.
